In loving memory of Kayden DeKobe Williams, age 17, of Elyria, who passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2017 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He was born in Westlake, Ohio on December 7, 2000.
Kayden was a junior at Keystone High School in Lagrange.
A standout player on the school's football team, his talent earned him a spot on the First Team All-Conference and First Team All-County. He led all of Lorain County in number of tackles made in 2016 with 124 tackles. He loved fishing, and any adventure that led him outdoors. An all-around handyman, Kayden enjoyed fixing things, and working on cars and other appliances. He was a fitness enthusiast who enjoyed working out. He also loved spending time with his friends and playing video games.
Kayden will always be remembered for being kind, caring, reliable, and his willingness to help others in his family and community.

The Kayden D. Williams Memorial Scholarship was established to support graduating high school seniors. Six non-renewable $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are graduating from any high school located in Lorain County for the 2023-2024 academic year. Additional requirements include:
-2.0 cumulative weighted high school GPA or higher
-Proof of enrollment in a 2- or 4-year college or training/apprenticeship program in Fall of 2024
-At least 1 letter of recommendation from a teacher, coach, or mentor
-Involvement in school and community activities throughout your high school career or a desire to impact your community in the future
Applications due Monday, March 4, 2024 at 8pm. Selected applicants will be interviewed during the week of March 18, 2024. Students who demonstrate a commitment of volunteer service in their community are encouraged to apply.
